| PoliciesRooted Student Ministries Summer Dress Code This policy is in no-way-shape-or-form meant to impugn any individual family’s personal convictions in this area. However, when representing NBC and Christ on specific church events, we want to hold the highest standard. Further, this will maintain consistency for the summer swimwear policy as the trips we will be taking (summer camp...etc...) already mandate a similar policy. We appreciate your support in this matter. Appropriate Summer Dress* Ladies - Female students will be asked to refrain from wearing tops that reveals their midriff and/or have plunging necklines. Also, the straps on all tank-tops are asked to be 1 inch in width minimum. Further, female students are asked to use good judgment when picking out what shorts and skirts to wear to official student ministry events. Students are encouraged not to wear “booty” shorts or mini-skirts. Guys - Male students will be asked to wear appropriate clothing on official student ministry events. Male students will be asked to refrain from wearing any clothing containing even veiled sexual references or other questionable innuendo. In addition, while male students will be allowed to wear sleeveless shirts on trips and at events, the removal of ones shirt (outside of swimming events) or the wearing of a “wife-beater” will be prohibited. Appropriate Swimwear Ladies - Female students will be asked to refrain from wearing bikinis and two-piece swimsuits that reveal cleavage and/or midriff. Instead, female students are encouraged to wear a tankini or one pice suits that do not have plunging necklines and/or reveal midriff. Guys - Male students are asked to refrain from wearing swimwear that has pictures of women in various stages of dress and/or sexual innuendo. Further, students are asked to either wear shorts that contain netting in them or to wear some form of underwear with their shorts while swimming. *Please note that students are also encouraged to avoid wearing all clothing promoting violence, grotesque imagery, and violent slogans. |
